My Mother “SusilaBai” passed away on Feb 1st, 2022 due to IPF at the age of 66. He fought IPF bravely for almost 2 years after diagnosis. She always had hope that she can recover from this deadly disease (I was giving her hope that soon a remedy will be in place based on clinical trails I was following in this forum). At the end it was COVID, that…[Read more]

Priyanka, Thanks a lot for the information and the kind words. So you ordered the WEI products from USA and shipped to India? Do we need to buy Soup A and Soup B? Can you please advise on how to get them – online or need to call. I will also pray for your father, thanks.

My mother was diagnosed with IPF 2 years back and she is on Ofev. She is not able to manage the side effects of Ofev, especially Gastro issues. Have you tried WEI products for your father or any other alternative medicines? Can you please share your experience with alternative medicines, that would really be helpful for my mother’s…[Read more]

Hi Fred,
Thanks for your inputs. Sounds like an easy way. Also wondering how you are managing PF without Ofev or Esbriet, please let me know. I am under the impression that only these 2 tablets are available out there for PF.

Marianne,
Yes, Ofev reduced my Mother’s cough to a great extent. Occasionally she still coughs but whenever she is hungry or situations like that. Again not sure how Ofev affects each individual, it may be the reason for different cough results in different individuals. Thanks for your suggestions.

Charlene,
Thanks for your suggestions. Discussed with physician and got cough syrup to control the cough. This forum really helped me to get a better understanding of the disease management. Thanks for doing this.

Hi Cindy,
Thanks for your advice. Yes, it makes sense to have it with protein and 12 hours apart. Will follow the same. Ofev is such a powerful tablet!

PF Members,
I’m planning to stop Ofev for my Mother, since the side effects is intolerable for her, especially GI issues. She already stopped it 2 days back and now slowly started to get back her cough, which was not there all these time when she was on Ofev. We are planning to change to Homeopathy, but during the transition not sure how to…[Read more]

PF Members,
Does anybody faced stomach burning due to Ofev? My mother was diagnosed with IPF 2 years ago and taking Ofev for 5 month (Pirfenidone for previous 8 months) was facing nausea, sleeplessness, lost appetite and also having breathing difficulties admitted into hospital 3 weeks back. Found Phelgm in lungs and given Nebulizer which cleared…[Read more]

Hi Marianne,
Even my mother is a Type 2 diabetes patient (more than 10 years) and in Oct 2018 we noticed the weight loss and dry cough symptoms of IPF. She is now having severe Gastrointestinal issues (stomach burning) after more than a year of taking tablets for IPF (Pirfenidone for first 8 months and Ofev for the last 5 months).

Thank you Christie.
My mother has IPF for the last 2 1/2 years and taking Ofev for the past 5 months (Pirfenidone – the previous 8 months). Recently her gastro intestinal side effects have become serious. So I was searching the internet and got lot of information, but not sure which is genuine. After seeing this site, I got confidence that we…[Read more]-
