Short Bio | Dx May, 2018 with ILD and then IPF at age 73. Fatigue and cough interfering with activity. Dr had blamed Lisinopril for cough, discontinued but cough continued. Then labeled me as having asthma. PFT showed slight decrease of lung capacity. Hx of bronchitis at intervals for years. I chose to see an allergist/asthma Dr. No allergies found, Small spirometer done & referred to pulmonogist. CT Scans x2, bronchoscopy with cryobiopsy guided by ultrasound. Pulmonogist wanted to put me on OFEV but never got approval for from insurance. He also referred me to hematologist oncologist as IgM elevated. Bone marrow results low enough not to start treating yet. Get labwork every 3 months. Labeled MGUS for now. IgM more elevated each time lab drawn. Last saw pulmonogist in September, 2018. To get CT Scan “high risk” in Sept 2019 before seeing him again. He put me at stage 1 out of 10 when I saw him. No meds. I did tell him I do not want CPR, ventilator, tube feedings or lung transplant. I continue to use Symbicort 2 puffs twice a day which seems to help decrease cough some and Montulkast (Singulair) 1 tab daily, ? It’s affect. My GP had put me on previously. |
