My HR elevates only when I stand up and walk. It reduces quickly when I sit. Sometimes to low 50s. My oxygen goes up when i stand and walk. The only time it has gone down is during a tredmill tsst.

I always read about the shortness of breath. How would you describe that? Does it get worse? I mean, could it get better over weeks or months?

Hi Tammy,
Shortness of breath is pretty noticeable. It feels like you can’t get enough air, like when you exercise hard, but when you are just sitting still. It can feel like a tight chest, but also feels really urgent, like you need to breathe more to get enough air. You may feel faint, exhausted, etc. Breathing generally becomes much faster,…[Read more]

Hi Tammy, are you doing any pulmonary rehab? Breathing exercises? I know there are lots of PF-related reasons why it could be hard to take a deep breath, which your doctor should help you investigate. Sometimes stress also adds an additional layer to that problem. If you are consumed by the worry of the symptoms, that anxiety might be constricting…[Read more]

You might be right. Let me backtrack a little bit, I assumed you had been diagnosed already, my apologies.. Do you suspect you have IPF? What types of doctors have you seen and what tests have they run? How long have you felt this tightness that prevents you from taking a deep breath? Do you have other symptoms?

Interesting… Mind if I play detective? (insert reminder that I am not a medical professional) Do you have any digestive symptoms? Like nausea/vomiting, full feeling, distended belly, diarrhea or consitpation?
