PFF Walk 2025 aiming to raise over $1M for pulmonary fibrosis fight
Events to be held at different US locations over coming months

Starting this week and over the coming months, the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (PFF) will be hosting the PFF Walk 2025 — an annual fundraiser to support its mission of funding research, increasing advocacy, and giving support to people affected by pulmonary fibrosis (PF).
The goal of PFF Walk 2025 is to raise at least $1.02 million, according to a foundation webpage. The campaign has already reached 40% of this goal.
“While PF is a debilitating lung disease, our community is driving significant progress toward a brighter future through research and education. With more support we can keep that momentum going,” Scott Staszak, PFF’s president and CEO, said in a foundation press release.
Registration for the 2025 walk can be done on the event webpage. There is no cost to register, but fundraising is encouraged. Participants who raise at least $100 will receive a commemorative T-shirt. Additional rewards will be given to those who raise $1,000, $5,000, and $10,000 in the event. Walk-themed swag — to include stickers, beads, and pins — will be available at each individual event.
Several different walking events will take place at different locations across the U.S. over the next few months, with each featuring one- and two-mile courses as well as music, food, and other activities.
More than $400K netted thus far for this year’s PFF Walk
This year’s PFF Walk is commemorating the foundation’s 25th anniversary. Each event will have a special community tent where people affected by PF will have opportunities to connect, get educational resources, and receive exclusive PFF Walk-themed swag.
Events will kick off June 21, with a walk at North Shore Riverfront Park in Pittsburgh. This will be followed by another walk event on Aug. 2, which will take place in Liberty State Park in New York City.
Four events are slated for September, including one in Little Marina Green in San Francisco on the 6th, and one in Montrose Harbor in Chicago, on the 20th.
Join us to raise awareness and walk alongside everyone impacted by PF — together toward a cure.
On Sept. 27, a walk will be held in National Harbor in Washington, D.C. In parallel to that event, there will be the National Walk Day — a virtual event that can be joined from anywhere in the world.
The last walk event will take place in The Sound at Cypress Waters in Dallas on Oct. 18.
As of mid-June, the foundation already had raised more than $400,000 toward this year’s goal.
The PFF is encouraging members of the PF community to come together with their friends and families to support the movement toward creating a world without this disease.
“Join us to raise awareness and walk alongside everyone impacted by PF — together toward a cure,” Staszak said.
