fundraisingThe Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation has just published November’s schedule of ongoing fundraising events. With 10 different programs for getting involved to choose from this month, it should be easy to find something right up your alley, and help support research and development efforts for pulmonary fibrosis, as well as families who are struggling to cope with this debilitating, life-threatening disease.   • National Mary Kay Pulmonary Fibrosis Fundraiser

Betty Smith, a beauty consultant at Mary Kay, will be donating 20% of all sales of the Mary Kay Satin Hands Set and Satin Lips Set to the PFF. She will be honoring her late father, James Harland Arrowood, who died of PF 7 years ago; her father’s twin brother who also died of PF 9 years ago; and her mother, who died from secondary PF.

  • Battle Out Pulmonary Fibrosis – Fight, Give, Win!

Cynthia Flores, a boxing enthusiast, was diagnosed with Idiopathic PF in 2010. Through her fundraising website, she is also honoring her late brother, Rick Torres, who died of the same disease when he was just 32 years old in 1998.

This event runs until December 31, 2014.

  • Polychronopoulos Online Fundraiser benefiting the PFF

As Nicole Fondas Poluchronopoulos’ father’s 5 year death anniversary approaches, she and her family have decided to create a fundraising account for the PFF.

This event runs until December 31, 2014.

  • Brianna Helps Pummel Pulmonary Fibrosis

Brianna is honoring her mother, who died during a lung transplant that was supposed to save her from her pulmonary fibrosis. Her mother had donated her organs, and inspired her daughter to give back to the PF community through a fundraiser.

This event runs until December 5, 2014.

  • Every Penny Counts to benefit the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation: A year long fundraiser

This fundraiser is in honor of Jazmine Canelas’ father who died of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. She shares on her website that she is constantly filling her piggy bank with all the change she gets from any of her purchases/transactions. You too can help.

  • Origami Owl Jewelry Bar for PFF

JoAnn Kohout is donating 20% of all sales from her online Origami Owl Jewelry Bar to the PFF in memory of her father, Garrett Kohout, who died 6 years ago of pulmonary fibrosis.

This even runs until November 30, 2014.

  • Jamberry Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation Fundraiser

Elicia Sheparad is donating 50% of her commission or 15% of the total sales from Jamberry vinyl nail wraps to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation. Jamberry wraps are beautiful nail designs that are vegan-friendly and gluten-free.

  • St. Joseph’s Hospital Westgate Pulmonary Fibrosis Support Group Meeting

The St. Joseph’s Hospital Westgate Pulmonary Fibrosis Support Group will be conducting its inaugural meeting on Thursday, November 20 at 7:00 p.m. at the Raymond Kellis High School Library on 8990 West Orangewood Ave, Glendale, AZ 85305.

  • New York Presbyterian Interstitial Lung Disease Support Group

The New York Presbyterian Interstitial Lung Disease Support Group will be meeting on Thursday, November 20, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Price Family Center Conference Room on 161 Fort Washington Ave Herbert Irving Pavilion, 3rd Floor, New York, NY 10032.

  • Winthrop Eager Breathers Support Group

The Winthrop Eager Breathers Support Group will be holding their Holiday Raffle Party from 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 20, at the Winthrop Wellness Center, Room ML-5 (First Floor) on 1300 Franklin Avenue, Garden City, New York. There will be pizza, games, trivia, and a raffle with tickets costing $5.00 for 6.
