Nebraska Medicine shared this video of Donna Jacobsen, of Winside, Nebraska, who was the first patient to be added to the lung transplant waiting list at Nebraska Medicine. Diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis in 2012, Donna first had a feeling something was wrong when she had a persistent cough that wouldn’t go away. Donna had been a nurse for 40 years, which helped her to make the decision to consult a physician for a check-up, who organized a lung biopsy which revealed she had IPF.
