Why Pulmonary Fibrosis Events Are So Important

Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a rare progressive lung disease with no known cause. Although there are medications and therapies that can treat the symptoms of the disease and help slow down its progression, there is no cure.

Find out more about how pulmonary fibrosis is treated.

In this Silver Box Studios video, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis patient Bill Boyer explains why it’s so important to continue with events that increase awareness of the disease and raise funds for vital research. Bill is currently waiting for a double lung transplant and requires oxygen therapy 24 hours a day. New treatments could help save future IPF patients from having to go through such a dangerous procedure and improve their quality of life.

Find out about eight ongoing research projects for pulmonary fibrosis.
