According to an article on airdriecityview.ca, the youngster wanted to do something to help her 8-year-old cousin who was diagnosed with the life-threatening disease as a baby, so she decided to use her love of running and set up the Clarke’s Family Run for Pulmonary Fibrosis last year.

The event was a success and raised more than $6,000 for the Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, making it the biggest fundraiser for the non-profit organization in Alberta. The event was held again in June this year.
