Have you seen this post by columnist Sam Kirton?

Sam warns us to be on the lookout for medical scams, including those promoting miracle drugs or magic doctors. Sam goes into detail on the kinds of scams he’s seen floating around on the internet, and the tactics they use to get in touch with patients desperate for a cure.

I highly recommend reading the full column, bust here are the highlights:
    1. Scammers prey on hope. They find victims in support groups, social media threads, and forums.
    2. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Do further research on the person contacting, and whatever they claim to be selling.
    3. Check the facts by checking reputable sources like the PFF, the NIH, Pulmonary Fibrosis News, and clinicaltrials.gov.
    4. Do not click links, or engage with suspicious posts. Do not message WhatsApp numbers provided to you by scammers. Report fishy posts to moderators when applicable. If you have been a victim of a scam, report it to law enforcement.
