@wendy-dirks So cool! I would love to see your models! I follow an artist named Mab Graves who makes incredible scale models and dolls.

@wendy-dirks Wow, I admire how much work you have done to process your grief and your own fears about your progressive illness. That work is hard, and it takes a lot of courage to ask for help and to dive within one’s self in times of pain. I am so sorry that you lost your son on top of everything else 2020 gave us. This period has been hard for…[Read more]

@smason An excellent question Steve, and one to which I do not know the answer. I did a quick search of Google scholar and couldn’t find any research that answers that question either.
If I were to speculate (remember I am not a doctor, just a person who’s tried to learn a lot about this), I would guess that it probably wouldn’t recur in the…[Read more]

Oh man, I am sorry to hear that. Covid has implications far beyond what some people realize. There is a subforum here just for covid/pf discussion, so you will likely find that useful. As far as plane travel, I am just a person and not a medical professional, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. If I were in your shoes, I wouldn’t risk it…[Read more]

Ok folks, it’s that time again… Wednesday Wins! Big victories, little victories, things you are grateful for–I want to hear about them all. Post your wins and/or gratitudes from this week. Like last time, these victories can be disease-related or not. I just really want to hear what’s going well in everyone’s life. Even if it’s as simple as…[Read more]

@obleek Rob, I have several rare disease friends whose caregivers were also vaccinated when they got theirs. In one case it was a lung transplant patient, in the other it was a muscular disease (not respiratory), and they had no problems. They were both in the US though. Fingers crossed that there aren’t any problems for you both! I imagine a…[Read more]

@vmcurrie62 Virginia, thank you for sharing your story and reminding me that we all have guilt. Even though it hurts, it’s comforting to know that I am not alone.
I am so sorry that you lost both parents to lung disease and now deal with it yourself. That must be incredibly hard. Of course, I didn’t know your mother but I can’t imagine that she…[Read more]

@davidota, I definitely needed to hear that. Thank you. A lot of people have said sentiments like, “you’ll never truly be ready, you just do it, learn on the fly”. That for me feels like one part relief and one part pressure. Like, no one’s ready but they figure it out/you’ll never feel ready so might as well just do it. I can see the huge amount…[Read more]
