  • Issue contacting BI Cares regarding OFEV

I’ve been using BI Cares for my OFEV prescription for the last 2 years. I went to refill my script & it seems they have switched to a web application for refills. It Failed. I tried calling the 1-800 number I have used in the past, followed the phone prompts & went on hold, the first time 2 times I gave up after 30 minutes, the 3 time I waited it out for an hour before hanging up, & today I gave up after 30 minutes. has Anyone else that uses BI Cares been able to talk to a human? if so, how long did you wait on hold? I have just over a weeks use of OFEV left before I’m out.

    Thanks in advance!

Hi Pete. My brother who was recently diagnosed had the same issue with contacting BI Cares. He ended up sending them a text message on a previous text message they had sent him.

You might also contact the member of your care team who prescribed the medication to ask them to contact BI Cares about your case. Medical offices normally have more success in having calls answered.

Come back and let us know how this turns out.

I had the same issue. When I finally got through after waiting on hold for almost two hours, I had a discussion with a harried customer service person. She told me that when her company acquired not just BiCares but others, they only had 56 service agents and the company immediately took on 88,000 new prescriptions. She said they were hiring madly and hoped the situation resolved. A case of improper prior planning. Sam is correct, go through your prescribing provider and ask for their help. It should cut down wait time.

I called to re-order my prescription and we were told that they did not have my account information. Have been getting Ofev for over 2 1/2 years and never had a problem. They said that they were going with a new pharmacy and a lot of information got lost in the transfer. The first time we were on hold for an hour and a half, had to call again and this time waited 2 1/2 hours. My pulmonologist’s office faxed over all the paperwork they needed like we were starting out as a new customer. They claimed one piece of paper was missing and it took us two days with our pulmonologist office sending faxes to get that finally cleared up. If I’m lucky, I will get my Ofev before I run out.

I have been on hold with them for as long as 45 minutes. I just put my phone speaker on and do other things as I wait. I have two numbers for them 1(800)556-8317 and 1(866)297-5906. Keep trying I got better results when I called late afternoon. Best of luck to you!!

Have to be patient.. I held for 2+ hours and spoke to human very helpful but lots of questions and after 10+ hours I was able to renew and they did over night. Good luck and Happy Thanksgiving. After they do application renewal it should get easier.

Update: I finally called my Pulmonologist’s office, who had no problem getting through to a human. They told him they had switched computer systems in September & not all the customers info/records were transferred over. It took them a bit to locate my records & got them moved into the new system with a new script from my Dr. Got my new meds 2 days later & a notice from BI that my ofev was mailed UPS. No signature required, which is kinda scary due to the cost of Ofev.

I also had trouble getting my ofev from bi care. I spent several days on hold for long periods, finally when only a few days of ofev left I was on hold over 2 hours. My information was lost in the new system. My care team tried multiple times with London hold times, before finally getting a representative. They faxed my information and a new application to the provider fax number. Still didn’t get through. Finally they provided a new fax number and got my medicine scheduled. They overnight scheduled with UPS, but won’t be delivered until tomorrow afternoon, because of Thanksgiving. I have been taking Ofev for over 2 years with no problems, but have been out for about 2 weeks. I have a lung function test coming up 12/10/24. With all that said, I am thankful for the BI-Care program and especially thankful for my Pumonologist and care team at Mercy in Rogers Arkansas 🙏 I was told from this point forward they will automatically schedule the delivery.

I have tried to contact by phone. The first #800.556.8317 is a number that seems good. I was on hold for 2 hours and gave up. I called the 2nd #866.297.5906. It seems to be a medicare supplement insurance site. I looked up the website a while back and it is for sale. Do I have the 2nd number right? What is the name of the company that took over Bicare?
