As far as my knowledge as a patient goes, there are only two medicine which may help arrest or decline the progression of IPF. Ninetena or Nintedenib is better than Perfindone. If your patient is able to tolerate Nintedenib, then though costlier than Perfindone is supposed to yield better results. I don’t know how much a strip of ten soft gel capsules of Nintedenib cost in your country but it costs about ten Euro per strip in India.

Yes friend I am 78 and diagnosed with IPF in Dec 2019. Initially was on Nintena and now on Phirbindon 801 TDS for three years or so because Nintedenib induced loose motions. I also cough very strongly and it is disturbing for many specially in Europe. But I am lucky to be staying in my own house in India and Indian people are more tolerant.. but friend don’t bother about what others will think. Once you tell them about your disease, I am sure people will understand. If they don’t, it is their problem , what you do and how you do in your own house is none of their business. Happy stay In your new home

No one tell you exactly how to reduce or get over the side effects of Ofev. I was on Ofev for more than two years taking 150mg twice a day. Then suddenly I started having loose motions. I had to stop ofev and am on pirfindone 801 for the last two years or so. My pfts are showing a steady decline but I don’t think any medicine can stop or bring some improvement in lung function after having contacted PF.
