    My sincere condolences dear Kathryn.
Whether or not to continue fighting for earthly life is so intimate that sometimes the decision to continue or not can harm the loved ones.
It should only comfort the company and help that was given to the loved one. I have had IPF for 10 years and it is a topic that I ponder frequently.
    A hug with love

My Hope is to enjoy this miracle of living. I know that this disease is very complex and takes away quality of life and life sooner than one would like, but it is one of the risks we have to live. My hope is to do the best I can each day for my family in general, my wife, grown children and my grandchildren. I enjoy them when they come home to our grandchildren. A few months ago I retired from my job (63 years old) to have more time at home with my wife. My retirement from work allows me to enjoy the domestic things of each day, to have infinite times to contemplate. There is a poem by Alberto Cortes called “How lucky I have been to be born.”
A hug to all and I pray to God every night to keep my gratitude to life.

Dear, my IPF is family and my background is that my mother had this disease and my older brother. As soon as you have the diagnosis, my suggestion is to face this with a good pulmonologist and attend to your diet, exercise and other things that help you. My diagnosis was in 2010 and although now it is more advanced, I still believe that I can maintain my health. My note is one of optimism to face this disease.

I started treatment with OFEV in July 2020 and had to suspend it due to side effects, mainly diarrhea. Now I will start again with just a daily dose for 2 to 3 months, with more antidiarrheal and diet support. The idea is to go back to 2 doses of the full treatment.
I believe that this is a war for our health that must be winning battles with great patience but we must not neglect the quality of life of one and of the loved ones that surround us. Cheers, Gastón from Chile
