I participated in the Tyvaso Teton 2 clinical trial a couple years ago. I may have had a placebo or Tyvaso in this blind study. It required 4 nebulae treatments per day. Which was onerous. After two months I dropped out because of a side effect. I was on Esbriet at the time so I quit both the trial and Esbreit and that stopped the side effect (skin rash). A month later I began OFEV only and have been doing okay since then.

So my comment on Tyvaso is that during the clinical trial after the nebulizer treatment I could breathe easier and felt better. This was my subjective opinion without objective data.

If I was on Tyvaso, it was improving my IPF. If it was a placebo, it was in my head that I felt better.

If Tyvaso becomes available for my IPF, I will request it since I’m on OFE now.

Good news for me and you. To counter the negative reports and provide some inspiration, I would like to report some improvement in my IPF condition.

It has been 18 months since diagnosis and began on 2LM 24/7. Started Esbreit 15 months ago and there was some stabilizing of IPF, but side effect of sun exposure and blistering skin was too much for me. Stopped it after 7 months and switched to OVEF and there are no side effects for me!

PFT results are indicating the lung fibrosis has stopped growing. FVC was 66% 16 months ago and now it is 93%, DLCO was 38% then and now it is 59%.

I’m 79,  stay positive, stay on the oxygen, take the medicine and complete the respiratory therapy weekly.

I’m using promethazine (aka PROMETH/COD)to eliminate the cough.  Diagnosed with IPF 10 months ago (1/2022).  Using ESBREIT and holding my own.  I learned to take my pill during each meal.  1/2 the meal, take my pill then eat the rest of the meal.  I also have GERD, but take OMEPRZOLE to eliminate the reflux.

I had a cough initially, but my cough has been eliminated with this cough medication promethazine.
