Joe Nichols Quote About Pulmonary Fibrosis

Joe Nichols is a country music star best known for the songs “Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off,” a No. 1 hit single in 2005, and “Gimme That Girl” in 2010. That song hit No. 1 on the charts eight years after the death of his father in 2002. Just two years earlier, Michael Nichols had been diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis.

Joe Nichols’ biggest regret is that his father wasn’t diagnosed sooner. Michael Nichols had been misdiagnosed several times. Joe is now an advocate for the disease. In this pulmonary fibrosis quote, Joe Nichols asks that we all share awareness about the disease.

Pulmonary fibrosis is a disease characterized by deepened tissue in the lungs that over time becomes thick, stiff and scarred. There is currently no cure. Genetics seem to play a role in the disease.

In an interview with Candie Anderson, Joe talks about his father’s journey for an accurare diagnosis. “It’s a very unknown disease that’s very serious, very dangerous. The more you talk about it, the more you research, the more you share with other people, the more information that’s shared, the more knowledge is known about the disease and we can hopefully find more treatments, more cures and start diagnosing correctly and in bigger numbers,” he said.

Our Son’s Coach was recently diagnosed with IPF. The team just had a fundraiser and would like to do more. They have been struggling with the news.
