In the early stages of dealing with the disease, Joseph had to be on oxygen all the time and he had trouble walking without being breathless.  Walking up the stairs was almost impossible and even just standing could be a difficult task until he decided to look for different treatment options and came across stem cell treatment at the Lung Institute.
