The Importance of Early Diagnosis for Pulmonary Fibrosis
In this video from Boehringer Ingelheim Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis shared in September 2014, Professor Vincent Cottin from the National Reference Center for Rare Pulmonary Diseases in Lyon, France, and Dr. Luca Richeldi from the University of Southampton in the U.K., talk about the importance of early diagnosis of pulmonary fibrosis.
Professor Cottin explains that the diagnosis process for pulmonary fibrosis is long and patients may need to see their doctor and other healthcare professionals many times before an accurate diagnosis is reached. Dr. Richeldi adds that treatments are more effective if the disease is caught at an early stage.
