In this short video from Boehringer Ingelheim Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis shared in September 2014, Dr. Toby Maher from the National Heart and Lung Institute at the Imperial College in the U.K. talks about how doctors discuss idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) with their newly diagnosed patients.

Dr. Maher talks about how he would discuss treatment goals and ways to prevent the patient’s condition from worsening. He explains that he would advise pulmonary fibrosis patients on how to prevent infections and prevent lung injuries which would speed up the disease’s progression.
