Dealing with seasonal allergies
For those of us living in North America, I’m sure you’re welcoming spring with open arms. Where I live, it’s been a dull, gray, and cold winter so the warmer weather and sunshine are a welcome change. However, spring also brings on an abundance of seasonal allergies which can complicate things for those of us living with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF).
IPF already impacts our breathing by compromising our lungs, so additional congestion or swelling from allergies in the sinuses and throat can become problematic. Since my diagnosis of IPF in 2016, I have noticed seasonal allergies impact me more than they used to and I’ve started taking Benadryl.
For others living with IPF: are you bothered by seasonal allergies? If so, how do you manage those pesky symptoms?
