How to heat/humidify inspired oxygen
My mother is using 4 to 8 l/min oxygen flow through a regular nasal cannula. The hi flow nasal cannulas that the supplier provides have a similar appearance with tubing that is very slightly larger in diameter. The air that comes out when we use the humidifier bottle is quite cold and my mothers temperature actually drops over the course of the day and the air flow is uncomfortable for her. Does anyone know of a device or attachment that will humidify and heat the air, one that will allow us to continue to use the regular sized nasal cannula? I saw an ad for an Airvo 2 device but it appears to require a large delivery device, a rather bulky nasal cannula set up. Does anyone have any solutions or suggestions?
