Hi, I hope your father is doing well. I am 70 years old and was diagnosed with IPF 2 years ago. I currently take 150mg of Ofev twice daily. There has been no progression of the scarring, but I have lost a lot of weight due to the diarrhea and loss of appetite. On the advice of my pulmonologist I am also taking B complex, vitamin D 25 mcg & Zinc 30 mg. Hope this was helpful. Jim

Thank you, Jim. Appreciate reply. My dad is also on Ofev twice daily. Thank God, he doesn’t get diarrhea.

I take Spring Valley Zero Sugar Fruit and Vegetable Men’s Multivitamin Gummies. They only have a hint of taste and have a pretty complete list of vitamins with an emphasis on Zinc, and C and D. I also take a Magnesium and a Calcium supplement as doctor ordered. I also take Ofev once a day and am on a Prilosec regimen that so far has done a good job in lessening gas, bloating and indigestion. Pretty much stay away from heavy spices, but that’s me. Best of luck on your journey. Keep asking questions.

Hi Herman….I am 81 and was diagnosed with IPF in 2019. I take all of the supplements noted above and in addition I take Vit E(250mg), CoQ10(100mg), and Green Tea capsules. The first two are beneficial to your heart and the heart works harder when there is poor lung performance so it must be cared for equally with the lungs. I have also mentioned on this Forum that I was a participant in a study on the effectiveness of Green Tea as a moderator of IPF progress. I would highly recommend anyone with IPF take 600 mg a day before bed of EGCG/Green Tea to slow down IPF progress. You can get it on Amazon or Swanson’s online and it is relatively cheap. My 6 minute walk test taken yesterday provided nearly the same results that I performed 2 years ago. I hope this helps.

Daily I take a Costco Multi and a Vit D suppliment.
To help with fatigue and O2 levels I take a energy booster with caffine in it too.
All this helps a great deal

What brand of Green tea supplement do you take. I looked on Amazon and the various brands were overwhelming

I take a daily multi-vitamin, just recently switched from centrum 50+ vitamin to a methylated vitamin due to some reading that suggested your body will absorb more or get more out of the vitamins if they are methylated… but after a few weeks, there is no noticeable change.
