My go-to form of exercise is walking. I generally do this with my dog, Beau, at my side. I do have a recumbent exercise bike, but I prefer fresh air even during the winter months.

    What is your go-to exercise?

I do 3 miles on the treadmill 3 times a week. I have worked hard at increasing my speed to 2.6 although some days I have to decrease the speed for a short time until I have a good oximeter reading. I would like to walk outside but our air quality is not the best on most days which seems to effect me. I also do some weights. My work on the treadmill definitely has paid off in maintaining my IPF.

      Hi Marfa,

I am glad you are using your oximeter on the treadmill. It sounds like you have got this down. As for walking outside, on some hotter days here in the mid-Atlantic region days of extreme heat or cold have me looking for an alternative.

What I do every day is get on the recumbent bike for 20 minutes and then I do stretch stretching exercises to try to increase lung capacity. Every other day I do hand weights, and this is really helped me. I have never exercise before in my life until I got this and now I’m glad I do.

My “goto” exercise is climbing the only set of stairs in our house. Going down is no problem, coming back up is all good until I reach the top step where I usually have to pause and ketch my breath. My heart is racing, I sometimes feel light headed and sometimes I curse this disease while I am panting for air and holding onto the railing post as my heart is pumping overtime trying to replenish the oxygen deficiency in my body which is caused by my ever “failing” lungs. 🫁

I wouldn’t ever curse this onto anyone.

    For any reason.

I walk one + miles per day and use exercise bands three times a week for strength. Have been diagnosed February 2024 and have been stable without meds. 🤞

Living with Pulmonary Fibrosis (PF) was one of the hardest experiences
of my life. The breathlessness, the fatigue, and the fear of the future
weighed on me every single day. I had tried so many treatments and
medications, but nothing seemed to stop the disease from progressing.Out
of both hope and desperation, I came across NaturePath Herbal Clinic.
At first, I was skeptical but something about their natural approach and
the stories I read gave me the courage to try one more time.I began
their herbal treatment program, and within a few weeks, I noticed small
changes easier breathing, more energy, and a clearer mind. Over the
months, those improvements became more and more obvious. Today, I can
truly say my life has changed. My lungs feel stronger, and my quality of
life has returned in ways I didn’t think were possible. This isn’t just a
testimony it’s a heartfelt recommendation to anyone struggling with PF
or other chronic conditions. Don’t give up hope. I’m so grateful I gave
NaturePath Herbal Clinic a chance.Visit their website to learn more: http://www.naturepathherbalclinic.com [email protected]
