Short Bio |
Former caregiver for my mother Holly, who was diagnosed with IPF in 2018 after many years of declining lung function and a persistent cough. She received a life-saving double-lung transplant on March 15, 2019. Prior to her transplant, she was taken to the University of California San Francisco by medevac flight following a severe acute exacerbation of her IPF. She stayed in the ICU for 11 weeks awaiting her transplant. I spent much of that time with her and stayed in San Francisco for three months after the operation to help her recover. You can read all about our story in my column “Courage to Care”.
