I’ve posted this before, but I, with my doctor’s support, have an “interruption” in OFEV for 2-3 days when the side effects have me really worn down. I get benefits and returned strength way beyond the 2-3 days off. At this point, I’m doing that about 6 times a year, every other month. So my net OFEV intake is much higher than if I go to 100 dose all the time. Not suggesting what anyone else should do, of course. I’ll look into Evolve, thanks for the suggestion above.

I’ve been on OFEV 150s since 2020, with the standard side-effects, sometimes more, sometimes less, but always there. For me, it has helped to have brief interruptions, go off OFEV for 3 days. This gives me relief for much longer than the 3 days, about a week, allowing quite a bit of strength to return. I’m doing this about 6 times a year, so every other month. Asked my Dr about going to 100s; he much prefers these brief interruptions as it gives me more medicine overall. The other tips people are mentioning help too; lots of small meals, protein, Imodium immediately with symptoms, etc. Good luck everyone!

Four plus years into IPF, I’m trying to slow the deterioration any way possible. I’ve kept up breathing exercises with small weights and using pursed lip breathing. I’ve used a Pep Buddy, and my wife recently got me the Air Physio. For me, both devices seem to be a variation on pursed lip breathing. But perhaps they will aid focus on proper breathing, just as weights seem to aid my rhythmic exercising. I’ve only had Air Physio for a few days, so will be continuing it on a “why not” basis. Good luck to all those that keep trying.

Thanks to those that responded. Charlene, I’ll search for an M3 or D and see what I find. My supplier showed me an M6, too large, and wasn’t interested in exploring units they didn’t stock.
