Thanks for this article. I have some in the house that were wondering why I cough so much.
The four triggers work on me, especially weather right now. Dew points have been in the high 60s low 70s F for over two weeks with a heat index of 107-122. Needless to say I sit real close to the A/C vent.
I am in my 4th year of diagnosis (although thinking back, it’s been with me a lot longer) and on 6L oxygen with movement. Once I sit, blood O2 jumps back up fairly quickly.
After reading some of the others I feel fortunate that OTC cough drops are working for me.

I’m currently working on my weight loss to be able to qualify for a transplant. Have lost 54lbs.  This last 20 is tough. My lungs have been stable for the last 3 years of PFTs.

I tend to ramble so there’s my contribution

    Never give up

No burning for me other than reflux, but a trip to your GP for a referral is probably a good idea.
IPF In my experience, is like an elephant sitting on your chest when you’re trying to take a breath after exertion.

    Thanks Mark

My Rice Krispie lung sounds are in the lower half of my lungs.
Good news. I have now passed the 4 year mark of my terminal dates. Latest PFT is just a tad better than the last and all have been level.
I miss PT. With the concerns we have about the pandemic they have been cancelled and I haven’t really left the house for 327 days. The elliptical and free weights are ok but I miss my PT buddies. Waiting on vaccinations to catch up around here.
Sorry. I tend to ramble lately. Thanks for listening.
