My husband died of pulmonary fibrosis. He had been a smoker, but had quit many years before developing this disease. His doctors did not diagnose it until less than a month before he died – too late to help him. My question is this: For many years he had a hobby of making lead soldiers. He sat in a small room in the basement, with a small window partially open, to melt and form the figures. His son was a medic and gave him a special mask to wear and sternly warned him, but he refused to wear it. Could this have been a primary cause of his disease?
