Raising Awareness of Pulmonary Fibrosis
Did you know that pulmonary fibrosis takes as many lives as breast cancer or prostate cancer? However, unlike breast and prostate cancer, there is no remission and treatment can only ease the symptoms. Around 40,000 people die each year from pulmonary fibrosis in the U.S. yet very few people know about the disease. Elicia Shepard is one person trying to raise the profile of the disease and in this 2014 video, she explains a little bit about why we need more research into the deadly disease.
Thankfully, there are many people like Elicia who are striving to raise awareness of pulmonary fibrosis and help to raise funds for vital research into the disease. Getting more people talking about this devastating condition will help lead to better treatments and ultimately a cure.
