    Pulmonary Fibrosis News Columnist and Forum Moderator Charlene Marshall summarizes a study from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, which discusses a metabolic pathway that researchers believe is a promising therapeutic target to fight idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF).

    This study states that lung fibrosis, including IPF, occurs from abnormal healing in the lungs after persistent injury. Based on our understanding, that injury could be an infection or illness, such as bronchitis or pneumonia.
