I feel very fortunate that I will be celebrating my fourth lung anniversary in March. When I originally got the word that I had if I was a little negative because I felt that the end was too near. I decided to fight back staying healthy and exercising. On March 16. 2021 I was very lucky to have a single lung transplant. Yes, it is a different way of life with lots of rules and meds. But, I am still here! Without the transplant I would have been gone over 2 years ago. Now, not to say I haven’t had other issues. The lung meds are starting to ruin my kidneys, so dialysis is now a topic. But, I will go early in the day so I still have time to di stuff. And guess what? I’m still here. I have severe bone issues which cause bone fractures all the time. (This is not related to ipf.) But I do not dwell on the extra pain and still get out and live my life. Best advice I can give is have a positive attitude and fight. Do not sit around and wait to due. Get up, be active, exercise. And have that piece of pie and that after dinner cocktail.
Due to public notice requirements this news was going to come out sooner than later, we will be involved in ownership of Murf’s until early next year.
When we first opened Murf’s almost 6 years ago, we could never have imagined the community that would grow around it. From the laughter shared over meals to the friendships formed across our tables, Murf’s became more than just a business—it became a home filled with love, connection, and joy.
To our amazing team: you are the heart of Murf’s. Your passion, energy, and care made every customer feel like family, and we are forever grateful for the magic you brought to our business every single day.
To our loyal customers and friends: you weren’t just visitors; you became part of the Murf’s family. Thank you for supporting us, for cheering us on, and for making Murf’s a special place that we will always hold dear.
While this chapter of Murf’s has come to a close, we are excited to embark on new adventures in life. Although stepping away is bittersweet, we hope you all continue to support the new owners.
Although we may no longer be at Murf’s every day, this isn’t goodbye. The relationships we’ve built over the years mean the world to us, and we hope to stay connected as we move forward.
Thank you for making the past six years the most challenging and memorable of our lives. We are endlessly grateful for your love, support, and friendship.
With all our love and gratitude, Jim and Debbie Murphy
