Pulmonary Fibrosis News Columnist and Forum Moderator Charlene Marshall discusses the importance of talking to others about cold and flu season as patients living with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). Most patients with IPF are considered immunocompromised, which means they are highly susceptible to catching viruses and bacteria, especially during cold and flu season.

While patient’s can do everything in their power to remain as healthy as possible in the winter months, they rely on others to help them as well. Talking to others about how they can reduce the spread of germs, especially around those with compromised lungs, is an IPF patient’s best defense.
