I had a lung biopsy not sure what it was called. 3 small cuts a chest tube and 3 days in the hospital all to tell what we already knew. I was led to believe it would tell what type of PF I had, it did not.If given the choice to do it again I would not.Not alot of help sorry. I wish You well.

Hello Carol.
I hope the cryo biopsi went well. I had one 6 Mo ago, in Oslo Norway where I live. It was for me an easy procedure to go through, no discomfort at all. So, I hope that you will experience the same. Hang in there!

David,
The biopsy did tell you what kind of PF you have. IPF: Idiopathic (no known cause) Pulmonary Fibrosis. The importance of this diagnosis in the US is that it allows patient to be prescribed one of two drugs to slow the progression down.
My biopsy was smooth, I should have done it sooner.
