• Umbilical cord/stem cell regenerative therapy

I recently attended a meeting where a representative from Amplified Wellness spoke. He was hailing the praises of stem cell therapy, harvested from umbilical cord donors. This therapy, also referred to as regenerative therapy, treats patients who are suffering from pain management, and also pulmonary fibrosis. I would like to know if anyone has ever heard of this Amplified Wellness, more specifically, has anyone ever been through the series of injections and treatments? As this treatment was being explained and statistics were given, it all sounded great. Anyone who would like to share first hand knowledge??

    Hi Debra,

Thanks for this post. I’ve also heard (via webinar) and been reading about regenerative medicine through the use of stem cells for different types of diseases, including pulmonary fibrosis. I don’t know if anywhere is conducting this treatment already, but it sounds like the representative you heard speak says there is? I’m leery about companies conveying this treatment because I fear it’s for profit/financial gain for them, unless they represent a hospital or clinical program. I’m also curious if anyone else has had firsthand experience with this. Please share with us.

Thanks for starting this discussion thread!

    Charlene.

I think there was a study about 4-6 years ago regarding using stem cells to try to improve IPF patients. If I remember correctly the study showed that stem cell therapy was ineffective against IPF. I think the American Lung Association put out a bulletin saying essentially while stem cell therapy is interesting IPF patients would be wasting money if they tried it.

I asked AI and the redacted response is copied here: The use of umbilical cord stem cells, specifically human umbilical
cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells (HUC-MSCs), is being explored as a
therapeutic option for Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF). IPF is a
chronic, progressive, and often fatal lung disease characterized by the
scarring of lung tissue, leading to impaired lung function [1] [2]. Current treatments primarily focus on slowing disease progression rather than offering a cure [3].Case Studies: A notable case involved a 56-year-old man
with IPF who received intravenous HUC-MSC infusions. Over 12 months, he
showed significant improvements in physical performance, quality of
life, and respiratory parameters, including a reduction in long-term
oxygen therapy requirements. Radiological analysis also indicated a
decrease in fibrosis area [1].Tissue Regeneration and Repair: While the primary focus
is on anti-fibrotic and anti-inflammatory effects, HUC-MSCs may also
contribute to lung regeneration and repair, offering novel insights into
potential regenerative therapies for lung disease
