    Hello everyone!

I was diagnosed with IPF in 2021 and I tried taking OFEV but it did no agree with me so, I am not taking anything right now! I feel like I’m getting worse because I have a hard time breathing with just a little bit of walking or working around the house! I started doing research about getting healthy and found the book “Stay Off My Operating Table” by Dr. Phillip Ovadia heart surgeon. I now follow Dr. Ken Berry, Dr. Anthony Chaffee, Dr. Shawn Baker and many more doctors on YouTube. All these doctors are Carnivores. I have lost 30 pounds sin August, reversed my pre diabetes, and my arthritis is slowly going away! I’m hoping it will stop the progression of my IPF so I won’t have to take any medication. I watched a video with Dr Berry and Dr David Brownstein about iodine. Dr Brownstein talked about giving his lung patients a nebulizer with iodine and peroxide during the Covid pandemic. I need to look into that further and do some research on it! Here is the link if anyone is interested! I feel I don’t have anything to lose!

    Respectfully,

    Hello Harry!

I can’t give you advice but I will keep you in my prayers! I’m in my third year of IPF and I stopped taking Ofev because it made my blood pressure skyrocket and I got very dizzy! I didn’t like feeling that way. I’m starting to feel better little by little and it’s because I changed my diet- zero carbs! I felt horrible for two weeks and now I’m feeling better (I’m 7 weeks without carbs) ! My skin is clearing up, my skin tags have disappeared and my energy is up! I’m actually doing Carnivore and it has reversed people’s diabetes, skin diseases, weight loss, and many other issues! I’m hoping it helps with my IPF! I will let people know of my progress as the months go on! There are many videos on YouTube of doctors who are carnivores if you’re interested!

    Take care and God bless!

I find that doing mixed media helps me relax and I forget about everything (including eating and time) while doing so!

    I love crafting!

    Blessings to all!

    Hi Deb!

I had an open lung biopsy (December 14, 2022) because my doctor said he had to know how to treat my IPF. I wish I would have gotten a second opinion! I am still in pain from the surgery and my breathing seems to be worse! It doesn’t matter what kind of IPF you have because there’s only two different medications to treat it and they are similar (Ofev and Esbriet). I regret having that surgery because it’s been so hard on my body! Think really hard about the decision to get the surgery for your own sake! I wish you all the luck with your decision! Take care and God bless!

I forgot to mention I am on the 150mg. 2 times per day! I also normally have high blood pressure but it has been under control!

Thank yo so much for your reply! This is truly a wonderful site with people who care about each other and share their experiences of what they have gone through. I will eventually try the Ofev again after I retire in May. I’m just dreading the side effects I had ( night blood pressure and dizziness).  My pulmonologist actually asked the nurse how much he should start me on Ofev! Can you believe that? I feel I have to do a lot of my own research on this disease! Whatever I find in research I will share on this site!
Thank you again and God bless!
