Eileen Koster’s IPF journey started in 2015. Asthma, allergies, and chronic cough made her job difficult as a flight attendant. A year later, doctors confirmed she had IPF.

In September 2020, she told her pulmonologist she wanted a transplant. With no relatives nearby, her friend Florence agreed to put her life on hold to help Eileen.

On March 24, 2021 she received a right lung. After six months, she was doing two-mile walks. Then she got to ride her bike. She credits all of this to the donor’s gift of a lung, the skilled medical staff, and a universe that provided her with friendships, love, and support. She now realizes how strong, courageous, and fearless she is.

    Eileen you are mighty!

And now back to our community, do you ever feel braver than the average? Stronger? Or just the same?
