Acknowledging gratitude and grief this Thanksgiving
Gratitude isn’t always easy to find on this journey of living with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). I invite you to reflect on a post this past Tuesday from my fellow co-moderator @Samuel Kirton about what you’re grateful for, especially in light of American Thanksgiving this week.
While gratitude can indeed help us to shift our mindset and is an important aspect of coping with anything stressful or challenging, such as a life-threatening illness like IPF; it is also important to acknowledge that holidays, including Thanksgiving and Christmas, can be tough for some folks. In the event you’re finding this week hard, I wanted to invite you to read some columns from Pulmonary Fibrosis News columnists regarding gratitude.
Please know that you aren’t alone if this season is hard for you and when living with a chronic illness, it’s important to balance gratitude with grief.
