Escaping IPF stress through reading!
I’ve always said that living with a progressive illness such as IPF is not for the faint of heart. It can feel depleting emotionally and mentally, while also leaving us fully exhausted physically. This is something I’ve been experiencing a lot as of late, so I’m trying to find an escape; one that allows my body to rest and my mind to think about something else.
In the last couple of months, I’ve rediscovered my love of reading, particularly fiction novels. I read a lot but often I default to books that are related to my career, as opposed to getting lost in a good novel and I plan to do a lot of reading over the winter/holiday season!
I’m curious about our members: do you have any good book recommendations? If so, please comment below!
If anyone on the forums hadn’t seen it as well, an American best-selling author, Kristin Higgins, wrote a book about a young adult living with IPF (spoiler alert: the main character is based on my life :)) and she did such a great job writing it. The book is called: Pack Up The Moon if you’re interested!
Take care,
Char
