Household air filters
In my recent quest to find answers to an uncomfortable respiratory feeling, I had an HVAC person come to my home to inspect my furnace thoroughly. Thankfully, he said everything was working and our furnace was running well. This was beneficial to know for two reasons:
1) I was able to eliminate poor air quality as a contributing factor to my latest respiratory issues and continue my investigation into other causes and;
2) It’s always good to know your furnace is working well ahead of a winter cold snap. In Ontario this month, temperatures dropped to -30C!
When the HVAC technician was asking me questions about my respiratory issues, he recommended a specific household air filter for my furnace. He said the make (ie. 3M) didn’t matter but the number on the filter should be between 1200-1500. This allows 85% of household air to be filtered, but more than that can be problematic.
Has anyone else received a recommendation for household air filters since living with IPF?
