Organ donation awareness month is coming!
Many of us on these forums have been personally impacted by organ donation. While not a cure for IPF, a lung transplant is the only way to rid this chronic lung disease from our bodies. I say it isn’t a cure because lung transplants are their chronic illness; there are lots of things to manage including rejection, medication, exercise, etc.
Prior to being diagnosed with a disease that causes my lungs to fail, I’d never thought seriously about organ donation. Now, it’s an important part of my life and I’m a strong advocate for it! With that in mind, I wanted to share and remind folks that April is Organ Donation Awareness Month.
