I have researched stem cells/regenerative therapy extensively. Searched pub med and also doctors and clinics all over. I could not find a single doc or clinic that actually successfully treated IPF. That being said I came across a paper by Dr Cheng who is at U of NC at Raleigh. He actually reversed PF in rats by taking crumb size pieces of their lungs and culturing them in his lab and then used an IV and infused them into the mice. The results were like none other. He is working w a doc at UNC and they are have a research study using this procedure on 24 patients. I would be very curious if anyone finds anything about regenerative medicine and IPF. There is a regenerative medicine Facebook group and I’ve asked there and have not had any responses. I did contact some renown docs in the country that are well known for regenerative techniques and the only thing that I heard was that nebulizing exosomes MAY be helpful. I did run across one doc that wanted to come to my house and use cells ( I can’t remember which ones) but he seemed shady and wanted an inordinate amount of money and what he was doing wasn’t anything different then what the other docs said may help. I would of been happy to find one doc that had antidotal evidence as I would if pursued that therapy. I spend an inordinate number of hours searching this topic. One has to be careful out there.

John, I have been emailing a guy that had it done in Tampa and he said it made him feel a lot better and it bought him time to get to his lung transplant. They charge $32.000 and it is a one day procedure. They use his cells from his stomach area. I am thinking about having it done in NY where I am being treated for long Covid and vaccine injury homeopathically and he uses cells from umbilical cords and has has some good results. He charges $12,000 and it is a 3/4 day procedure and they have had good replies. I have an IPF drug coming from Russia (sudoxeride) that he has used on patients with very good success. It is $85 not $12,000/$14,000! I’ll keep you posted.

I am reposting this comment on steel cell therapy I recently posted on a similar thread here.
I can understand how much an effective stem cell therapy would be to the PF community. At the same time there are some people who market promises of spectacular results with very little or no scientific support.
The Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation is issued a position statement on stem cell therapies. You can review it at:
Ask you care team about stem cell therapies and you might also ask, if you are considering a lung transplant, if receiving stem cell therapies would negatively impact your consideration for a lung transplant.

An Israeli Physician is using stem cells stimulated by manipulation of Hyperbaric Oxygen to treat “ late Covid “ in patients living in the Villages in Florida. He has not yet responded to my questions concerning the efficacy in treating IPF.

I am being treated by a doctor in Ithaca NY for long Covid/post Covid and he is very good! He has treated over 7,000 patients since the beginning of Covid and has been treating my IPF. He is homeopathic and has me treating myself with DMSO which can reduce scarring in the lungs absorbed through the skin(a roll on or cream at Amazon for $25) now drinking DMSO liquid, sudoxide to slow scarring from Russia not approved by our slow FDA, NAC augmentata from Italy (very potent). He has what I have with Long Covid and vaccine injury. I’ll send that info on Russia and my doctor shortly.
