COVID-19 has caused many barriers to patients accessing healthcare. In fact, a survey conducted out of Europe highlighted just how disrupted the care and wellbeing of rare disease patients has been due to the pandemic.

Oftentimes external sources access our forum and read the content. From there, the moderators are contacted with additional resources that those external folks want us to share with our community. Recently, we were contacted by a company called Bankrate, who put together a guide to provide information on alternative options for transportation for folks in need, and how people can volunteer to assist those in need. With health and safety top of mind for so many, this guide also explains steps both the rider and driver can take to minimize the risk of transmitting germs to one another.

Transportation to medical appointments has been one of those barriers and disruptions in care due to COVID-19 for people all over the world!

The guide to transportation options for medical treatment during COVID-19 can be found HERE.
