PFF Summit 2019

Hi Everyone,

Just writing with a quick inquiry about whether or not anyone from our forums community plans on attending the 2019 Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation Summit in San Antonio Texas next month. I am contemplating attending, though with just having come back from vacation, I have to ensure it meets my budget. That said, I would imagine a lot of great research directions, physician/keynote speakers and the networking portions of the Summit would be very helpful. I imagine I’d also get a lot of content material I could write about and bring back to our online community. I’m not entirely sure I will attend, though I am leaning towards going. Is anyone else on the forums planning to attend?

My wife ad I considered it, however the cost, Airfare, rental car, hotel put it out of our reach.

I was looking at current info on it and all sessions will be recorded , probably videos, if you could not make it. My Ofev coordinator is going and a few people from our support group are attending and will present it during our November meeting.

Today, we are headed to Charlottesville, VA to attend the UVA, PF patient education day on Saturday .

Hi Dan,

Thanks so much for writing and letting us know your thoughts on the PFF Summit. I’ve been considering it too, however, the cost is what concerns me and I am happy to learn about the videos of information being made available. I didn’t know that, so thank you for sharing! I still may end up going, it would be good to attend though the challenge now will be accommodation as the hotel where the event is being held is at capacity. Not sure, something to still consider I suppose….

Glad you will be hearing some of the presentations, and that you’re active in the PF education day… I know those help a lot of our members! How was it?

Good to know – thanks for sharing…it would be awesome to meet some more forum members in person! I said I’d decide by tomorrow night if I can swing it, but I hope to be there too. I’ll make sure to write you if I make it 🙂

I am attending the Summit

Hi Glenda,

Oh this is so good to know! I have to make a decision about it by tomorrow (Monday) but am now leaning more towards it now that I have care in place for my dog. That was my primary concern as I was away from her for three weeks in Hawaii. My issue right now is the astronomical flight prices to San Antonio – I flew roundtrip to Hawaii cheaper, it is crazy. I am going to take a look at prices today to see if any have changed. Wish me luck! I’ll write and let you know for sure if I am coming, I’d love to meet you!
