In the past year, I’ve had the real privilege of getting to know many wonderful people who are also living with PF/IPF. One of those people is a dear friend of mine, and she is 62 living with PF (caused secondary to treatment for cancer as a young adult). Recently we were talking about the difficulty that comes with exercising with PF. We all know how important exercise is to our lung health, but when you can’t breathe, it sure makes it a daunting and challenging task both physically and emotionally.
For my friend, I’d love to ask all of those in this group: what are some of your favourite gentle exercises that you can do despite living with PF? Any tips to share to make exercise easier? Please share, we’d love to hear from you!
My favorite gentle exercise is Tai Chi for Arthritis. I took a couple of classes with people who had different disabilities. All of us were able to participate at our own individual pace. The instructors basically followed Dr Lam’s lesson plan, link below is a fair representation.
