- Short Bio
I am a Retired Navy Warrant Officer that spent 26 plus years on various ships and shore commands. After retiring from the Navy I landed a job teaching new sailors how to operate and repair shipboard satellite communications equipment. The past year or so I noticed that I was winded when traveling from the car to my classroom on the second deck of a building and mentioned it to my primary health care doctor in April. He sent me for some x-rays and said that there was some scarring on my lungs. After that he schedule me for a cat-scan and got my initial diagnosis of IPF. Since I am covered by Tricare everything takes time, but eventually I was assigned to a Pulmonary Doctor and have gone through all the tests to confirm that I do indeed have IPF. Right now I am awaiting approval from tricare to go on OFEV.
