Hi, Brenda Colvin. I live in Florida and was diagnosed with IPF little over 2 years ago. I am on no meds yet. Just had CT scan and full blood work done 2 weeks ago. My Pulmonologist said no progression.I still have a very full life. I play golf and walk and still do all my housework. I have an occasional cough with phlegm sometimes. Not persistent. My dr says he doesn’t want to start me on meds yet bc of side effects. I go in 6 months for another scan. Guess we will see what happens. I like keeping up with everyone on my he forum. Very helpful.

Reading these comments have been very informative. I was diagnosed 2 years ago. No medication as of yet but going for CT and extensive blood work. Pulmonologist appt. 17th of May. I am a Christian and I know God has a plan for me. Whatever comes I know he will see me through. But I agree no one wants to die gasping for breath. Hopefully all these trials will produce a medicine to help all of us.

Hi Gail,I was diagnosed with IPF 2 years ago snd I’m still not on medication. I have had 2 CT scans. But last one showed no progression. Only have trouble breathing sometimes if I walk really fast or going up a hill. Cough in the mornings sometimes but have never been prescribed medication. I go back in April and will see what pulmonologist has to say. A really puzzling disease.

Brenda Colvin. I read an article saying Esbriet and Ofev are not cost effective in the U.S. is that true or do most of you live out of the states. I know it’s expensive but didn’t we wouldn’t have access to it here. I live in Florida. Not on medication yet but want to know options when time comes.

Brenda Colvin. I too have a problem with post nasal drip. Diagnosed two years ago but on no medication as of yet.I go through tissues like crazy. Have tried Claritin and Allegra. They don’t work very well. Will try Flonase. Have a morning cough sometimes with lots of phlegm. So appreciate reading everyone’s comments. We know we are not in this alone.
